My husband is from New Mexico and this is the only mexican restaurant in SF that he will go to. No, it is not as authentic as what he has back home, but it is quite close. Also nice to know that the House of Ray is locally owned; not a mass-produced reproduction of 985 other restaurants around the country.

I think whats really unique about Casa Del Ray is the Sunday buffet. Outside of that its pretty mediocre as far as mexican restaurants go.
