I was very sceptical when I heard this place was opening. I was hearing a lot of rumors on dress codes and outrageously priced drinks. When you go here though, you want to look nice, since it is a very nice place. LOTS of room, very nice layout, and not as much pushing and shoving as Bucks. Very good service, easy to get a drink, and prices aren't that outrageous. They play the best music in town, 80's, 90's, and a little bit of present stuff. They also play videos along with the songs, too. Very cool to see the old 70s and 80s videos. There is a small cover charge at the door, but well worth it. Believe me, I'm not the kind of guy that likes to put on a button-up shirt to go out, but I had to check it out, and its well worth the visit.

It's nice to see a new dance club in Sioux Falls. With little choices I rate Coconut Joe's a 4. I like the crowd a lot of young people on the weekends. The dance floor is nice and big. They have a projector showing graphics and music videos. They take requests so the music varies a lot. I've heard every thing from rap to 80's rock to country. I would prefer "real club music" some more techno and hip hop mixes but then again I realize we're in South Dakota. The service is good especially for how busy they are on the weekends. They have a $3 cover charge on the weekends after it gets late. Coat check is free. It's definitely worth checking out.

I would agree with the first rating. The atmosphere was nice, the VIP section seemed a little silly but basically the drinks are overpriced for the quality of service I received. If my glass was never empty I might not be so disturbed by the prices.

Not a bad place if you like to dance...great atmosphere!! Big screen playing videos...palm trees are fun..kinda pricey.

I went once, I'll never go again. I recommend drinking before you reach the club because the drinks are too expensive and the dance floor is pretty small as well.

i went here one time and its one bar I will never go back to. I love getting dressed up and I dont even mind a cover, but the drinks tasted horrible, and they were so rude! I've never been treated worse at any bar in my life. Plus everyone there was soooo old and I'm pretty old myself. I'll stick with nutty's and buck's

Went once, never going back. The drink prices are high, the music was poor at best (played Stairway to Heaven at midnight, horrible). The place is decorated like a bad prom. Waitstaff was unfriendly and unskilled. All in all, it was a bad experience, my friends and I will never be back.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 stars. I tried to submit this with 0 stars but it made me put at least 1, lucky for Coconut Joe's. Cocky bartenders, dirty strip club lighting, can't hear anyone talking. Good try, but no thanks.
